We are delighted to invite you to iCAST/SCHEMA’s Creative Hub workshop on ‘‘Enzymatic Depolymerisation: Steering the Field for Academic-Industry Collaboration’’.
This workshop aims to address the pressing global challenge of plastic waste by exploring innovative and sustainable solutions, specifically focusing on enzymatic depolymerisation. We will bring together experts and stakeholders from the plastic waste management, biotechnology, chemicals, polymers, and resin manufacturing industries, as well as academic researchers. The workshop will cover a wide range of topics, including the basics of enzymology, types of enzymes used in depolymerisation, optimisation and scaling up of reactions, opportunities for new enzymes and industrial applications of depolymerised materials. Attendees will have the opportunity to share insights, experiences, and best practices, and we aim to generate a technical report on the prospects of enzymatic depolymerisation for a sustainable future. Additionally, we hope to inspire the formation of an active networking group and provide a platform for developing future collaborative projects.
Expected outputs
- Generating a summary report (or white paper) on the prospects of enzymatic depolymerisation for a sustainable future.
- Inspiring attendees to form an active networking group.
- Providing a platform for developing future collaborative projects.
Provisional agenda
